Skybox Building 1M SF Lancaster Data Center: A State-of-the-Art Data Center in Lancaster, PA

Data centers may not require a large workforce after construction and installation, but they do demand significant investments. For instance, Google is investing $600 million in a new facility in Red Oak. While 1,200 workers may be needed during the building phase, only 30 will be necessary to operate it once it opens. However, for local communities where these data centers are located, the property tax bill can be substantial.

Skybox Datacenters LLC from Dallas has announced plans to construct a one million-square-foot data center in Lancaster – south of Dallas. The PowerCampus Dallas project will offer up to 300 megawatts of power and is being developed through a partnership between Skybox Datacenters LLC and Bandera Ventures along with Principal Asset Management.

According to reports from The Dallas Morning News , this massive data center will occupy approximately 100 acres near I-35E at South Dallas Avenue and Old Red Oak Road.

Founded in 2014 with ten active projects underway including an expansive facility spanning over 221 acres that is being built alongside Prologis Inc., Skybox continues its growth trajectory as it expands into Austin’s market.
