Skybox Datacenters and Prologis are nearing completion of a state-of-the-art data center in Pflugerville, with construction costs totaling $548 million. The companies have also announced plans for a second facility on an adjacent site, estimated at $63 million and spanning 148,500 square feet. Construction for this phase is set to commence in December and conclude by October of next year.
The two companies have long been committed to developing multiple facilities within their Pflugerville campus. According to the Austin Business Journal, the project will be supported by two Oncor electric substations connected through underground duct banks. Additionally, the campus will feature various amenities such as electric vehicle charging stations and meeting spaces.
In addition to their work in Pflugerville, Skybox and Prologis are also collaborating on PowerCampus Austin – a 159-acre data center development located in Hutto. This expansive project has potential for six buildings totaling 3.9 million square feet within Hutto’s “megasite,” situated near Samsung’s new factory.
This latest update marks significant progress for Skybox Datacenters and Prologis as they continue expanding their presence throughout Central Texas’ thriving technology industry.
