Skanska’s decision to elevate long-tenured leaders in Washington reinforces continuity in project execution and client coverage, which can support risk management and delivery reliability for institutional counterparties.

Skanska has advanced two long-tenured leaders into new positions overseeing its Skanska USA Building operations across the Puget Sound region and the Inland Northwest. The company promoted Tom Leptich to vice president of operations and Albert Martin to vice president and account manager, extending their influence across a broad geographic footprint in Washington.

Leptich, who joined Skanska in 2000, steps into the vice president of operations role with responsibility for project execution and field operations across Washington. Over more than two decades with the firm, he has been recognized internally for his focus on operational excellence, talent development, and delivering projects that meet the company’s performance expectations. His new mandate formalizes oversight of day-to-day construction activities, with an emphasis on consistent execution across multiple project types and locations.

Martin, also a more-than-20-year veteran of Skanska, has been named vice president and account manager. In this position, he will continue to concentrate on Skanska’s K-12 portfolio, while also working to deepen and expand client relationships and pursue new business opportunities. His experience includes leading large projects across the education, civic, healthcare, and commercial sectors, with a common thread of projects that have had a direct impact on communities throughout Washington.

The promotions underscore Skanska’s strategy of advancing leaders from within its existing ranks. Both Leptich and Martin bring long familiarity with Skanska’s internal processes, client base, and regional market dynamics. Their expanded responsibilities span multiple sectors and geographies, positioning them to influence how Skanska deploys resources and manages risk on complex assignments across the state.

These latest promotions are part of a broader series of leadership moves originating from Skanska’s Seattle office. The company has recently highlighted other internal advancements in Washington, suggesting a deliberate focus on continuity and experience in its leadership bench. For regional stakeholders and clients, the elevation of Leptich and Martin signals that Skanska is reinforcing its management structure to support ongoing and future project delivery across the Puget Sound and Inland Northwest regions.
