Skanska Finishes $256M Belmont School Renovation Project

Skanska has successfully completed a $256 million construction and renovation project for Belmont Middle and High School in Belmont, Massachusetts. The project entailed the replacement and modernization of two schools, which was conducted in multiple phases to enable uninterrupted school operations throughout the process.

The new middle school is a four-story building with 160,000 square feet of space that includes classrooms, science labs, gymnasiums as well as cafeterias. In addition to this extensive renovation work on the existing high school was also undertaken; incorporating sustainable features such as geothermal systems for heating/cooling purposes along with solar panel arrays while aiming for LEED Gold certification.  This successful completion marks an important milestone in Skanska’s portfolio of projects involving educational institutions across North America.
