Landmark Properties, in partnership with HC2 Capital, LLC and Peninsula Investments, has acquired a 40.05-acre site in Boone, North Carolina, with plans to develop a new off-campus student housing community called The Retreat at Boone. This cottage-style development will offer 625 beds and is strategically located near Appalachian State University.
The project will receive construction financing from Trustmark Bank and First Financial Bank. Landmark Construction has been appointed as the general contractor, and Niles Bolton Associates will serve as the project architect.
The Retreat at Boone will consist of 148 residential units, featuring floor plans that range from three to five bedrooms. The community is slated for completion in time for the 2027–2028 academic year.
Residents will enjoy a comprehensive 12,514-square-foot amenity package, including a resort-style swimming pool and spa, cabanas and hammocks, a Jumbotron, fire pit and grilling areas, a skate park, fitness center, golf simulator, recreational lawn games, and a computer lab.
