With over 2,300 locations across the United States, Home Depot is taking a gamble on Katy Texas. Despite having half of the population required to qualify for a store (50,000 people within ten miles), Home Depot believes that its presence in Houston’s metro area will be beneficial. After approval from City Council and annexation agreement allowing them to move onto an adjacent lot outside city limits, construction of their new store at Cane Island Parkway – Kingsland Boulevard intersection south of I-10 is expected to begin soon with completion by late spring/early summer 2021.
Cane Island is a 1,100 acre master-planned community located just off I-10 and Katy serves as the last suburb westward from Houston. With this addition comes great potential for economic growth in both areas as well as convenience for local residents who can now access all their home improvement needs without leaving town!
