Shoals Technologies Group, a Portland-based company specializing in electrical balance of systems (EBOS) for solar, energy storage, and eMobility applications, is investing $80 million to expand its manufacturing and distribution center in Sumner County. This expansion will bring 550 new jobs to the region and increase the company’s local headcount to 1,400.
The Nashville Business Journal reports that Shoals Technologies Group will be relocating its operations to a larger facility at 1500 Shoals Way as part of this expansion. The new plant spans over 638,000 square feet.
With over 27 years of experience in the industry and recently going public in 2021, Shoals Technologies Group has established itself as a leader in providing products such as fuses and cable assemblies for solar panel installations. They also specialize in battery storage solutions and electric vehicle infrastructure.
While it is unclear if any incentives were received for this investment by the company at this time, state grants are typically disclosed within thirty days after a public announcement has been made.
