Shell's Regional HQ to Be New Orleans Office Building with 123K-SF

Construction has commenced on Shell Plaza, a state-of-the-art eight-story office building spanning 123,941 square feet in the prestigious River District development in New Orleans. This build-to-suit net lease property will serve as the regional headquarters for Shell and marks the first Class A office building to be constructed in over three decades within the city.

The project is a collaboration between Cypress Equities and Lauricella Land Co., with construction taking place at 1600 Convention Center Blvd. As part of the larger 39-acre mixed-use neighborhood adjacent to New Orleans’ Ernest M. Morial Convention Center, this will be the first vertical development to break ground within The River District.

Shell Plaza is projected for completion by September of 2026 and will feature four floors totaling 117,941 square feet of top-quality office space exclusively leased by Shell. Capro Capital, a reputable real estate private equity firm based in Las Vegas, is providing equity for this venture while Tannenbaum Capital Group Real Estate platform (TCG) has originated a senior loan worth $74.5 million.

This exciting new addition was recently announced on Connect CRE’s website.
