Shape Up: $2 Billion Sherman Tech Plant Construction Underway

Texas Instruments’ massive semiconductor manufacturing campus in Sherman is estimated to cost $2.2 billion and span over 4.2 million square feet for its first phase of construction. This scope of work includes a large building with two clean rooms, utilities, warehousing, material loading docks, garage parking and an administration building connected to the main fabrication facility designed by Page Southerland Page firm. Construction began in May 2022 and is expected to be completed by August 2024 at an estimated cost of $1.739 billion for the 1,547177-square-foot fabrication facility alone; full buildout could take up to a decade with an overall investment reaching $30 billion when complete – creating about 4 000 new jobs that will generate billions into Grayson County’s economy according to Dallas Business Journal reports..
