**Engineering Firm SGH Adds Han Xu as Boston-Area Principal**
Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH), a national engineering firm, has announced the addition of Han Xu as a principal, enhancing the firm’s structural engineering and consulting capabilities. Xu joins the New Structural Design Division located in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he will work closely with SGH team members and clients across New England.
Han Xu brings more than 25 years of industry experience in the design of modern structures utilizing a range of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. He has successfully led structural design and construction initiatives for large, multidisciplinary projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, educational, cultural, healthcare, and infrastructure.
An active leader in the engineering community, Xu currently serves as president of the board of directors for the Structural Engineers Association of Massachusetts. He also contributes to the Structural Advisory Committee for the Board of Building Regulations and Standards and maintains memberships with the American Society of Civil Engineers, Boston Society of Civil Engineers, and the Structural Engineering Institute.
Han Xu’s appointment marks a strategic addition to SGH’s leadership team as the firm continues to expand its presence and impact in the Boston area and beyond.
