Flexible living operator Sentral has brought a new residential and extended-stay option to Houston’s Museum District with the opening of Forme, a 33-story tower that blends traditional apartments with hotel-style accommodations. The property introduces a hybrid living model in a prominent cultural neighborhood, combining long-term housing and extended-stay hospitality within a single high-rise.
Forme delivers a total of 530 units, comprising 475 residential apartments and 55 hotel suites. The hotel component is designed for extended stays, with bookings available for periods of 30 days or more, targeting users who require longer-term flexibility than a conventional hotel stay but may not be ready to commit to a standard lease.
The tower is located at 5501 La Branch Street in the Museum District, positioning residents and guests near one of Houston’s best-known cultural hubs. The building previously operated as a coliving development known as X Houston. After construction stalled for more than a year, Raven Capital and Mavik Capital stepped in to rescue the project in 2024, enabling it to move forward and reopen under the Forme and Sentral banner.
Amenities at Forme are structured to support both live-work and social lifestyles. The property features a coworking floor operated by Regus, providing on-site workspace for residents and extended-stay guests who require a professional environment without leaving the building. Additional amenities include a fitness space, a cocktail bar and lounge, a pool deck, and a variety of other social areas designed to encourage interaction and relaxation.
Sentral positions Forme as a solution for project-based professionals, relocations, medical stays, temporary assignments, and residents who prioritize flexibility in their housing arrangements. The extended-stay suites and residential units are intended to appeal to users who might otherwise toggle between short-term rentals, hotels, and traditional apartments, offering a single location that can accommodate changing length-of-stay needs.
Rent at Forme starts at $1,750 per month, placing the property in a price bracket likely aimed at renters seeking full-service amenities and a central, culturally oriented location. To support initial lease-up, Sentral is currently offering two months of free rent on select units, signaling an effort to ramp occupancy and quickly establish the property in Houston’s competitive rental and hospitality landscape.
