SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. (NYSE: SEAS), a publicly-traded company, has been discussing the possibility of building resorts at their various parks since November 2015. Recently, there have been indications that SeaWorld Orlando may finally be making progress on this front.
According to reports, SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. has submitted a development plan to Orange County for the construction of a 504-room hotel on approximately 30 acres of land. This would make it the first major theme park in Orlando without its own hotel property.
Experts believe that hotels are not only lucrative sources of revenue for theme parks but also strategic moves to increase control over visitation and travel packages. The proposed location consists of three parcels along Central Florida Parkway and International Drive.
This highly-anticipated project marks an exciting new chapter for SeaWorld Orlando as they continue to expand their offerings and enhance visitor experiences.
