"Seattle Plans to Build Washington's Biggest Pickleball Complex"

Side Out Pickleball Centers is set to open a new indoor pickleball club in South Seattle, occupying the former Pepsi bottling plant. According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the facility will cover almost 100,000 square feet and feature 26 courts – making it the largest of its kind in Washington state.

This announcement comes on the heels of Side Out’s recent opening of their first pickleball club near Paine Field. The company has leased over half of a 160,000-square-foot warehouse previously owned by Pepsi at 2300 26th Ave. S., which was acquired by San Francisco-based Prologis for $65 million in 2018.

Construction is currently underway with Prologis leading design and buildout efforts. Seattle-based Burgess Design has been named as architect for this project. The new facility will be known as Side Out Tsunami Pickleball Center through a partnership with Seattle’s National Pickleball League team, the Seattle Tsunami.

With companies like Side Out recognizing and responding to growing demand for pickleball in both Pacific Northwest region and beyond, this latest development marks an exciting milestone for Washington’s burgeoning pickleball community.
