Heartwood, an eight-story apartment building located in Seattle and designed by Atelier Jones, has recently been put up for sale. This 67,000-square-foot development features 126 units specifically designated for families earning between 60-100% of Seattle’s Area Median Income (AMI). The property is constructed using a combination of mass timber and steel materials, making it the first project to adhere to the “U.S. Type IV-C timber codes.” According to reports from Puget Sound Business Journal , Heartwood utilizes a carbon-sequestering renewable wood product.
The developer behind Heartwood is Community Roots Housing (CRH), who has selected Kidder Mathews as their marketing partner for this sale. Kidder listed the property without a set price tag but noted that its assessed value stands at nearly $28.1 million. This unique offering presents an opportunity for investors looking to enter into the growing market of mass timber construction in Seattle.
