SCB Architects Relocating Headquarters to Historic Downtown Tower

Design firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB), a Chicago architecture, interior design, and planning practice, is looking to relocate its headquarters from the Magnificent Mile to a nearby architectural landmark. According to Crains, SCB is in talks with Beacon Capital Partners – owners of the historic tower at 330 N. Wabash Avenue – for leasing nearly 35000 square feet of space in the 1.2 million-square-foot Mies van der Rohe designed building. The venture also has plans for significant renovations inside and outside of the tower’s premises as well Jack McKinney Jr., Mark Gunderson from Stream Realty Partners manage leasing on behalf of Beacon while Steve Steinmeyer, Bill Rogers and Jeff Liljeberg represent SCB from JLL side.

The Chicago based firm has been involved in several notable projects including Tribune Tower conversion project; repositioning 801 South Canal into Canal Station; 13 story loft style building development at Fulton Market etc..

This relocation news comes after months long speculation about SCB’s move away from Magnificent Mile area towards downtown district which was further strengthened by their recent projects around this region .
