The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) has recently unveiled its draft 2024 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy, known as Connect SoCal. This comprehensive plan outlines the region’s path to meeting federal transportation air quality standards and state greenhouse gas emission targets through a $750 billion investment in transportation and strategic regional development.

Open for public review and comment until January 12, 2024, this updated plan includes innovative strategies for addressing critical issues such as housing shortages, homelessness, climate change adaptation, and equitable investments in underserved communities.

According to SCAG’s Regional Council president Art Brown: “This plan prioritizes local input more than ever before. By working together as a region towards improving our transportation network and achieving sustainability goals.”

With over 2,000 projects included in the proposal since its establishment in 1965 serving Los Angeles County along with Orange County Ventura Riverside San Bernardino Imperial Counties SCAG continues to play an essential role within Southern California.
