The long-awaited city approval for a mixed-use development on the former Vallco Town Center site has been secured by developer Sand Hill Property Company, according to a report from San Jose Spotlight. The project, known as The Rise, is set to become Cupertino’s largest housing development.
Featuring 2,669 apartments and homes along with over seven acres of public park and gathering spaces and approximately 230,000 square feet of retail space, this project received the green light from Cupertino’s community development department on Friday.
Sand Hill expressed their excitement about this milestone in their news release stating that “the market forces impacting projects across the Bay Area have pushed us all to new levels of creativity and adaptability.” Reed Moulds also added that there is a strong commitment among stakeholders to ensure the success of this project.
This redevelopment at Vallco Town Center marks an important step forward for Cupertino.
