San Manuel Nation Acquires Full Ownership of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort

The San Manuel Investment Authority, through its affiliated entities, has fully acquired the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point. Known for its luxury offerings and consistent accolades—including the prestigious AAA Five-Diamond Award and Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Award—the resort stands as a cornerstone property within the San Manuel Nation’s non-gaming luxury destination portfolio.

While specific financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the resort was reportedly valued at approximately $600 million when the San Manuel Investment Authority initially acquired a 40% stake from Ohana Real Estate Investors in 2023.

Despite the change in ownership, Hilton will continue to manage day-to-day operations of the resort. In the same vein, Troon will remain in charge of Monarch Beach Golf Links operations.

The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club spans an impressive property, featuring 400 elegantly designed guest rooms and suites, multiple dining venues, the Waldorf Astoria Spa & Salon, three swimming pools, exclusive beach club access, a championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., and 120,000 square feet of versatile event space.
