Santikos, a San Antonio-based theater chain founded in 1911, has acquired 17 theaters and over 250 screens from VSS-Southern Theatres LLC. According to the San Antonio Business Journal, terms of the deal were not disclosed but included venues across Alabama, Florida, Georgia Louisiana Mississippi North Carolina South Carolina and Texas. With this acquisition Santikos becomes the eighth largest theater chain in North America.
