San Antonio Hospital Expansion: Methodist Healthcare

Methodist Healthcare is taking on a major hospital expansion to keep up with the rapid growth of the region. The Stone Oak area in San Antonio’s Far North Side has seen an increase in healthcare needs, prompting Methodist Hospital Stone Oak to invest $23 million into new procedural spaces, operating rooms and cardiac catheterization labs. This project is projected for completion by early 2024 and will provide more capacity for complex cardiac cases.

The San Antonio Business Journal reports that Methodist may be looking at a larger scale expansion which could include two additional floors atop its existing five-story tower – estimated between $80 million to $100 million. With this addition, patient beds would rise from 280 to 350 beds total on the campus.
