AHV moved its headquarters to San Antonio in 2020 and has since been rapidly developing new communities. The San Antonio Business Journal reports the developer is planning a 266-unit single family rental project called Altura, which is currently under construction in the northwest part of the city. AHV also recently unveiled 500-unit Los Cielos at Brooks, as well as Med Center and Loop 1604 projects on the Northwest Side. Additionally, Dovesky is slated for development according to AHV’s website.
Despite their bullishness in this area, however, BTR construction pipeline activity has slowed down with only 1,000 units underway – lower than last year’s figure of 1 800 units – while occupancy rates have remained below traditional apartment rentals’.
