**San Antonio Ballpark Development Moves Forward with New Agency**
A newly formed agency, the San Pedro Creek Development Authority, has officially convened for the first time to advance efforts for a new downtown San Antonio baseball stadium. With the authority to issue bonds, the group will help finance both the stadium and surrounding developments.
The ownership of the AAA San Antonio Missions is spearheading a four-phase project that aims to revitalize a portion of downtown. According to the San Antonio Business Journal, the first phase of the development is projected to cost up to $300 million. The most detailed element so far is the design of a new apartment tower, which will be located on the western bank of San Pedro Creek, at the intersection of West Travis Street and North Santa Rosa Street. The proposed building could feature approximately 400 multifamily residential units.
In addition, just south of the proposed stadium site, plans are underway for a mixed-use structure that will include around 250 apartments and a 160-key hotel.
Both the apartment tower and mixed-use complex are scheduled for completion in 2027. Meanwhile, development of the ballpark itself remains in the early planning stages, though it is expected to be fully operational in time for the 2028 baseball season.
