SAMU First Response, an independent non-profit focused on humanitarian support, has expanded its real estate footprint in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area with the purchase of a two-building property in Laurel, Maryland. The organization acquired the portfolio at 19 Main Street for $1.55 million, adding a new physical hub in the corridor between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
The acquisition involves a combined 11,400 square feet across two connected buildings. According to the parties involved in the transaction, SAMU First Response plans to occupy the property later this year, establishing an operational base that supports its work in the region. The buildings provide a mix of commercial office, warehouse and logistics space, aligning with the organization’s need for both administrative and functional support areas.
The 19 Main Street portfolio offers several features suited to logistics and support operations. The site includes 16-foot ceiling heights and five at-grade drive-in loading doors, offering direct vehicular access and interior volume appropriate for storage, distribution and other back-of-house uses. The property is described as a highly flexible and fully enclosed working environment, giving the nonprofit the ability to accommodate a range of functions under one umbrella.
On the brokerage side, Lee & Associates | Maryland represented the seller, 19 Main Street LLC, in the transaction. The sales team included principals Kate Jordan, SIOR, and Marley Black (Welsh), SIOR, along with senior associate Samantha Eckels. On the buyer’s side, SAMU Foundation was represented by Coco Palomenque of COMPASS Real Estate. The involvement of dedicated representation for both buyer and seller underscores a fully brokered investment sale process for this small-bay mixed-use portfolio.
SAMU First Response maintains its U.S. headquarters in Washington, D.C., and this Laurel acquisition is intended to reinforce its presence across the broader Baltimore-Washington region. By securing a property that blends office, warehouse and logistics characteristics, the organization positions itself to support a diverse slate of activities in aid of the communities it serves, while consolidating operations in a single, adaptable location.
