Samsung Supplier Expands with $130M Investment in Killeen

MGC Pure Chemicals, a leading provider of ultra-clean gas for the semiconductor industry, is set to double its plant capacity in Killeen. The city has approved nearly $2 million in incentives to support this expansion. According to the Austin Business Journal, MGC Pure will invest approximately $130 million into their facility and serve customers like Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd in the Austin area.

The company’s initial plant opened four years ago and is expected to complete its build-out by May 2025 with a new rail spur, manufacturing plants, and maintenance building being added. These improvements are valued at around $89.2 million for real property and $40.7 million for personal property.

This project from MPCA showcases how suppliers are benefiting from Samsung’s new multibillion-dollar next-generation plant being built just 60 miles southeast of Killeen in Taylor. This development is projected to create thousands of jobs and attract millions of dollars worth of investment from suppliers serving the facility.
