"Sam's Club Expands with New Distribution Centers in St. Louis and Minneapolis"

Sam’s Club, a subsidiary of Walmart, has announced its plans to open two new distribution centers in early 2024 near St. Louis and Minneapolis as part of its multi-year growth strategy to enhance the supply chain and improve end-to-end capabilities.

The first facility will be located at 5710 Inner Park Drive in Edwardsville, Illinois and span over 370,000 square feet. It will serve as both a distribution center and fulfillment center, creating over 100 job opportunities for the region. With more than 57,000 associates employed by Walmart in Illinois alone, this expansion further solidifies their position as a major employer.

In Shakopee,MN,the company is set to open another multipurpose distribution center at7400 Hentges Way spanning across365 ,000 square feet.The facility is scheduled for opening in March2024andwill employ more than80associates.Walmart currently employs over24 ,000 associates across Minnesota.

This latest development from Sam’s Club highlights their commitment towards growth and innovation within their supply chain network while also contributing towards employment opportunities within these regions.
