Hoar Construction has broken ground on the Campus Recreation, Wellness and Athletic Complex for students and university staff at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. At $65 million, it is the largest capital project in the school’s history. This 165,000-square-foot complex encompasses four projects that will be completed by fall 2024: Seibert Hall renovation with two basketball courts; multi-use court; fitness studios; dance studios; multi-purpose workout area and common spaces plus an additional 20K sq ft building featuring recreation & event space. Bashinsky Field House renovation to house new training & practice spaces as well as Dwight & Lucille Beeson Center first floor renovated to serve as a health center & counseling services home. Davis Architects Inc are also involved in this ambitious project which marks Hoar Construction’s biggest undertaking yet at Samford University!
