**Salvation Army Lists Harbor Light Center in Northeast DC for Sale**

The Salvation Army has officially listed its long-standing Harbor Light Center property, located at 2100 New York Avenue NE in Washington, D.C., for sale. The organization has tapped Feldman Ruel to serve as the exclusive broker for the transaction.

The 2.36-acre site is being marketed as a prime adaptive reuse or redevelopment opportunity, with the potential to accommodate over 800,000 square feet of new development density.

Acquired by The Salvation Army in 1993, the Harbor Light Center initially operated as a homeless shelter and later evolved into a multifaceted facility. The site is currently approved for use as a treatment center and includes a warehouse and chapel that also functions as an auditorium.

In 2022, following a comprehensive needs assessment, The Salvation Army made the decision to permanently close the facility. Since its closure, the majority of the property has been leased to the District of Columbia.

“We’re honored to be entrusted with this responsibility and for the opportunity to play our part in the continued transformation of the New York Avenue corridor,” said Josh Feldman, Managing Principal of Feldman Ruel.

The sale marks a significant opportunity for future development in a rapidly evolving area of Northeast Washington, D.C.
