Salesforce Downsizes Bellevue Office Footprint

Salesforce Inc. has opted to reduce its office presence in Bellevue, Washington, following the renewal of its lease in the city’s downtown core.

The software giant signed an early lease extension for 98,000 square feet in the 929 Office Tower, a space it has occupied for nearly a decade. As part of the agreement, Salesforce also opted for an early termination of its lease on three additional floors, totaling 78,000 square feet, according to a report from the Broderick Group, as highlighted by the Puget Sound Business Journal.

Salesforce initially leased space in the 929 Office Tower in 2015, becoming a key tenant in the development by Trammell Crow Company. The company’s decision to right-size comes amid a trend of office space adjustments by major tech firms in the area.

Several other companies have recently renewed or adjusted their leases in downtown Bellevue. These include WeWork, eBay, and Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Discovery has also downsized, leasing 48,000 square feet in the Civica Office Commons at 225 108th Avenue NE. This move comes as its 112,000-square-foot lease in Seattle’s Hill7 building is set to expire in May.

Salesforce’s decision reflects a broader real estate strategy shift in the region as tenants adjust their office space needs in response to changing workplace dynamics.
