The San Antonio City Council has approved a budget of over $17 million for the development of four affordable housing projects. This funding, which comes from a voter-approved housing bond, will be used to create 711 units for individuals with incomes below the town’s median income.
Each site will offer standard amenities and additional services such as food pantries, school supplies, financial planning assistance, and after-school programs. Construction on Palladium San Antonio is expected to begin this summer and be completed by March 2026. The Preserve at the Port is an existing complex that will undergo improvements to become an affordable housing option with 360 units located at 402 Gillmore Ave.
Towne Twin Village is being developed in three phases by the Housing First Community Coalition at 4711 Dietrich Road as a permanent supportive housing community. Lastly, The Commons at Acequia Trails will provide permanent supportive housing with its planned construction of a community consisting of 201 apartments on Old Corpus Christi Road near South Presa Street.
