Peachtree Group and Merritt Development Group have joined forces to build a new Residence Inn by Marriott in downtown San Antonio, Texas. The 171-room studio-suite hotel will be located near the popular Riverwalk and is expected to open in the second quarter of 2026.
According to reports from the San Antonio Business Journal, initial estimates for this project were around $58 million. However, with recent funding secured through a $24.7 million construction loan, work has officially begun on this exciting development.
Merritt Development Group will lead the construction efforts for Residence Inn which promises top-notch amenities such as fully equipped kitchens, separate living areas and workspaces in each suite. The hotel will also feature a fitness center and outdoor gathering space along with flexible meeting spaces for guests’ convenience. Additionally, Caribou Coffee will be available at the hotel.
In addition to their project in San Antonio, Peachtree has been actively involved in developments across Dallas as well. Just last month they broke ground on an impressive dual-branded AC Hotel and Moxy Hotel development spanning 19 stories in Uptown Dallas,Texas.
