Merritt Development Group and Peachtree Group have received approval from the San Antonio Historic and Design Review Commission to proceed with their plans for a new Residence Inn by Marriott at 100 N. Main Ave.
The proposed hotel will feature 171 rooms spread across ten stories, covering a total of 124,000 square feet. Amenities will include a rooftop pool and terrace, fitness center, meeting rooms, and an on-site panaderia. The estimated cost of construction is $58 million.
Peachtree Group acquired the land in October after it had changed hands twice within one year. Previously owned by REM Hospitality, this prime location was deemed ideal for the development project.
BGKT Architects has been selected to design the hotel while Peachtree will serve as its owner-operator. Construction is set to begin in fall of this year with completion expected in 2026. Additionally,Merritt Development Group has plans for another similar hotel near Government Hill neighborhood.
