Rockland Trust Provides $28.6M in Financing to Expand Disability Housing

Corporation for Independent Living (CIL) has secured $20.1 million in financing from Rockland Trust to support the development and customized construction of 15 group homes across Massachusetts. These homes will serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries, with each property accommodating either four or six residents.

In addition to the Massachusetts project, CIL received an additional $8.5 million in financing from Rockland Trust. This funding will be used for the acquisition, renovation, and construction of community-based housing in collaboration with nonprofit service providers. The expanded capital will enable CIL to carry out these initiatives nationwide across the continental United States.

“CIL is helping to create more housing opportunities for vulnerable individuals during a time of significant need,” said David Semenza, Commercial Banking Officer at Rockland Trust. “This is more than just a loan. It is a commitment to building stronger, more inclusive communities for all of our neighbors. We are grateful for this opportunity and proud to support CIL’s mission.”
