Extell Development Company has announced a partnership with IHG’s Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to open a new hotel in Manhattan’s Diamond District. This will be the third Kimpton hotel in the market, joining existing locations at Hotel Theta and Hotel Eventi.
The 33-story hotel, named Kimpton Rockefeller Center, is expected to open in late 2025. It will be located on 48th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues and will feature 529 guest rooms, two full-service restaurants, a lobby lounge, and rooftop bar. The property will also offer amenities such as a fitness center and two event spaces for meetings or social gatherings.
Elysa Goldman, Senior Vice President of development at Extell stated that this partnership combines the strengths of both companies to create one of New York City’s finest hotels. With its prime location near Rockefeller Center and stunning views of the city skyline from its rooftop bar , this new addition is set to become an iconic destination within one of NYC’s most popular neighborhoods.
