Rockefeller and Matan to Develop 5 Million Square Foot VA Logistics Center

Rockefeller Group and the Matan Companies have announced a partnership to develop the Port 460 Logistics Center in Suffolk, Virginia. This expansive industrial and logistics hub will span over five million square feet on 500 acres of land. The first phase, scheduled for launch in 2025, will feature five buildings totaling 2.4 million square feet with leasing managed by JLL.

Located near the Port of Virginia, Port 460 offers direct access to major population centers along the East Coast. With an annual capacity of over three and a half million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), it is set to become one of the deepest ports on this coast after undergoing a $16.3 billion infrastructure upgrade.

According to Stephen A. Edwards, CEO and Executive Director of Virginia Port Authority: “The development’s strategic location makes it an excellent addition to our region as we continue enhancing America’s most modern gateway.” He further added that developments like this are crucial for meeting supply chain industry demands while keeping their port as a preferred location for end users.

This announcement marks another milestone in Rockefeller Group’s commitment towards developing state-of-the-art logistics facilities across key markets nationwide.
