Foxtrot, an upscale grocery chain, is making a comeback in Chicago with the reopening of its fifth location in River North this week. This follows the recent reopening of their Maple Street store in the Gold Coast.
The new store will be located at 401 N. Wells St., after original co-founder and CEO Mike LaVitola announced plans to relaunch the brand earlier this summer. Foxtrot’s parent company had filed for bankruptcy and closed all locations abruptly back in April.
Under LaVitola’s leadership, these reopened stores – starting with Old Town and Gold Coast – will operate under a new company bearing the Foxtrot name, as reported by Chicago Business Journal.
“We have more locations to share over the next few weeks,” said LaVitola. “Now that we know which specific locations are opening, we can have more meaningful discussions with our team members and start bringing them back.”
