Richardson Approves Hotel to Apartment Conversion

The City Planning Commission of Richardson has approved the conversion of a former hotel into an apartment complex. Developer Blue Ocean Real Estate will now be able to easily transform the rooms in the former Trellis extended-stay hotel, located between North Collins Boulevard and US 75, into studio and one-bedroom apartments.

The studio apartments will have a minimum size of 350 square feet while one-bedroom units will be at least 400 square feet. Spread across four buildings with a main clubhouse area, this apartment complex offers various unit options.

Blue Ocean’s approach involves acquiring well-located properties with high potential for value creation in all types of real estate products. This typically includes significant renovations over a period of three to five years.
