Revamping and Rebranding of Iconic Sunny Isles Beach Resort

The Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort, once frequented by celebrities such as Sammy Davis Jr., Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin, is undergoing a $42 million renovation. The 10-story resort will be temporarily closed during the revamp and is expected to reopen in late 2024.

Leading the makeover is HB Capital Group with financing arranged by North Bridge. The ocean-facing pier restaurant at the resort, Sandbar at Newport Pier, will be transformed into an upscale dining destination under HB Capital’s plans. Additionally, there will be six other food and beverage options along with an oceanfront pool and integrated pool/beach club featuring fire pits.

EoA Group has been hired to oversee the renovation project.

Rooms at The Sunny (formerly known as Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort) will start from $450 per night after its reopening.

This iconic beachfront property in Sunny Isles Beach is set for a major transformation that promises to elevate its status even further upon completion.
