"Revamp of Charlotte Tower: A Complete Transformation"

Crescent and Nuveen jointly acquired the 20-story One Independence highrise in Charlotte for $132 million in 2019. Since then, they have invested $30 million into renovating the retail and restaurant offerings with a focus on tenant needs. Working alongside architecture and design firm Gensler, Crescent has leased 23,000 square feet of restaurant and food/beverage space.

At the center of these improvements is Monarch Market, an $18 million food hall that opened in November. Spanning over 18,000 square feet, it boasts nine diverse food vendors including Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, Kabab2Go,and Rolled AF as well as a full-service restaurant called Sushi Art. Additionally there are three unique cocktail options: Aster Cocktail Room,Lanai Terrace Bar,and Monarch Bar.

In 2015,LRC Propertiesand Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors purchased what was then known as101 Independence Centerfrom previous owners KBS Capital Advisorsand Gramercy Property Trustfor$108million.The revamped Charlotte tower is now complete.
