Retail Leasing: Understanding the Landlord's Market [VIDEO]

At the recent ICSC Las Vegas conference, industry leaders were asked about the current state of retail leasing. Dave Cheatham, president of X Team/Velocity Retail Group, stated that it is currently a landlord’s market due to record low vacancy rates across the country. Other experts agreed that landlords have an advantage in lease negotiations due to factors such as a shortage of Class A space.

Watch this video for further insights from Cheatham and Sneider, along with Joe Derhake (CEO of Partner Engineering & Science), Darren Wood (principal at Providence Group), and Owen Hutchison (EVP retail services at X-Team Retail Advisors).
