According to a new white paper by Placer.ai, the year 2024 saw a rise in various retail and dining trends, some of which appeared contradictory. Despite consumers prioritizing price, they also showed interest in “essential non-essentials” like gym memberships and wellness offerings.
The white paper titled “Retail Trends to Watch in 2025” highlights how consumers placed importance on both speed and convenience while also being willing to go out of their way for quality or value deals. Even with concerns about the economy, shoppers were still willing to spend money on specialty items, established brands, and enjoyable experiences as long as they were affordable.
These trends are expected to continue shaping the retail industry this year. The white paper explores topics such as where innovation combined with value drives consumer visits; how much convenience truly matters; the state of discount retailers; whether adapting store formats based on local market needs helps businesses stay ahead; and what upcoming retail and dining trends will have an impact by 2025.
