MassDevelopment is seeking proposals from consultants to assist in developing a master plan for approximately 7,000 acres of land at Joint Base Cape Cod (JBCC). The goal of this project is to identify the current and future spatial needs of the base and create a plan for redeveloping surplus property. This initiative is being led by MassDevelopment in partnership with the Massachusetts National Guard Adjutant General and JBCC, as well as cooperation from the Massachusetts Military Asset and Security Strategy Task Force.
According to Secretary of Economic Development Yvonne Hao, military installations play a significant role in driving economic growth throughout Massachusetts by creating jobs and attracting investments. Through collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Adjutant General and JBCC, MassDevelopment aims to develop an optimized master plan that will not only maximize use of this valuable state asset but also pave the way for future housing development opportunities on site.
