"Renovations Underway: Miami Beach Hotel Owners Invest $85M in 40's-Era Property"

Westdale Properties, King Street Capital Management, and Cedar Capital Partners have joined forces to invest $85 million into the revitalization of Shelbourne South Beach. Originally built in 1940, this 14-story hotel boasts a prime location in Miami Beach’s Art Deco Historic District with stunning oceanfront views. The property, situated at 1801 Collins Avenue, will undergo extensive renovations including updates to its guest rooms, restaurants, lobby area,pool deck,cabanas,and meeting/event spaces. In 2020,the ownership group acquired the hotel for $120 million.

Upon completion of the multimillion-dollar project,the newly renovated Shelbourne South Beach will be managed by Proper Hospitality,a renowned boutique hotel operator based in California.This will mark Proper’s first venture into Florida.

The highly anticipated reopening is scheduled for early 2025,making it an exciting addition to Miami Beach’s hospitality scene.
