Larry Gluck, the co-founder of Stellar Management and one of New York City’s largest commercial real estate owners, has passed away at the age of 71 after a battle with ALS. Alongside Steve Witkoff, Gluck established the firm nearly forty years ago.
Stellar Management currently holds over 1 million square feet of retail space, 12,000 apartments and 2 million square feet of office space across a portfolio spanning over 100 buildings. Additionally, they have another million square feet in development projects. Throughout his career, Gluck achieved notable accomplishments such as securing a $714 million loan to refinance Yorkshire and Lexington Towers and overseeing the $1.4 billion sale of Parkmerced in San Francisco.
Following his passing, Gluck’s wife Sandra and daughter Amanda are now leading operations at Stellar Management with support from an executive team. With a background in real estate law and starting out by acquiring Brooklyn’s own property on Henry Street back then; despite facing controversies regarding rent-stabilized units throughout his tenure – Larry still leaves behind an enduring legacy within NYC’s real estate industry.
