Schindler Elevator Corporation has recently signed a full-floor lease for 23,000 square feet at the prestigious 1133 Ave. of the Americas, owned by The Durst Organization. As a leading global manufacturer of elevators, escalators and moving walkways, Schindler has chosen to relocate their corporate New York office to the vibrant Bryant Park neighborhood.
According to Jody Durst, President of The Durst Organization: “Office space in Bryant Park is highly sought after and in short supply. We are pleased that our recent investment of $350 million into this submarket includes a $40-million renovation at 1133 Avenue of the Americas. We warmly welcome Schindler and believe their employees will appreciate all that this property and neighborhood have to offer.”
Michael Chatterton, Senior Vice President at Schindler added: “We are honored to be moving into this Class A LEED Gold building where we not only installed its original elevators but also modernized them over time. Our team takes great pride in maintaining these elevators since the building’s opening.”
The deal was facilitated by Tom Bow,Rocco Romeo,and Nora Caliban from The Durst Organization’s internal team while Andrew Grabis,Erik Schwetje,Nate Solomon,and Nicholas Solomon from Mohr Partners Inc represented Schindler during negotiations.
