CRE Market Beat Take
The scale and programming of Village Landing signal ongoing private investment in walkable mixed-use centers, reinforcing retailer and hotel interest in activated suburban hubs.

Related Ross has acquired the site for Village Landing, a planned mixed-use project at the intersection of Stribling Way and State Road 7 in Wellington. The company has closed on the land and is preparing to begin construction, with groundbreaking anticipated this fall.

Village Landing is envisioned as a new walkable village center for Wellington, bringing together hotel, retail, office, restaurant, and public space uses in one destination. The plan calls for an 180-room hotel and more than 300,000 combined square feet of retail, office, and restaurant space. According to the announcement, six connected plazas and green spaces will organize the site, creating a pedestrian-oriented environment anchored by a central village square and a lakefront boardwalk.

The project is designed to concentrate activity around the lake, with many of the planned dining and retail concepts positioned along the waterfront. Related Ross is planning more than 80 shops at Village Landing, in addition to daytime cafés, market-style concepts, and destination restaurants. The mix is intended to support both everyday neighborhood needs and regional visits.

Public and programmed space is a key component of the concept. Village Landing is expected to host community events such as farmers markets, holiday festivals, fun runs, pop-up activations, and local celebrations. These activities are planned to complement the project’s role as an all-day gathering place for families and neighbors.

The development represents Related Ross’s first major South Florida expansion outside of West Palm Beach. By selecting a site at a prominent intersection in Wellington, the firm is positioning Village Landing as a new commercial and social hub for the area. The combination of hotel rooms, significant retail and dining space, office uses, and a structured public realm reflects an emphasis on walkability and programmed open space.

As the project moves toward its anticipated groundbreaking this fall, key details such as total development cost, delivery timeline, and individual tenant commitments have not yet been disclosed. However, the scale of the planned commercial space and the emphasis on creating a connected series of plazas and green spaces underscore the intent to establish Village Landing as a long-term mixed-use destination for Wellington and the surrounding community.
