Related BH Group Greenlighted for Plantation Mixed-Use Project

According to a report from the South Florida Business Journal, Related Group and BH Group have received approval for their joint mixed-use project in Plantation. The development, known as Plantation City Center, will be situated on 13.7 acres at 8601 W. Sunrise Blvd., replacing a former AT&T training center that spanned over 130,550 square feet (see photo). The city council has given the green light for the project which will feature 512 residential units, approximately 25,000 square feet of commercial space and parking for up to 833 vehicles. In total,the development will cover an area of over860,000 square feet and include an eight-story apartment building,five three-story multifamily buildings,two stand-alone retail buildings,and a row of two-story townhouses.

As part of their plans,the developers have committed to including51 units designated as workforce housingfor individuals earning up to120%of the median income in this area.

The interior amenities at Plantation City Center are expectedto span23 ,456squarefeetandwillincludea lobbyarea.Outdooramenitieswillfeaturetwo pools,a pickleball court,and playground facilities.

In2023 ,RelatedGroupandBHGrouppurchasedthepropertyfor $13 million.TheprojecthasbeendesignedbyMiami-basedarchitecturefirmArquitectonica .
