Sares Regis Group of Northern California (SRGNC) has been granted approval from Redwood City’s City Council for a new residential community at 505 E. Bayshore Rd., located at the entrance to Redwood City’s emerging Bair Island neighborhood. The 2.54-acre site, currently home to Alan Steel, will be demolished in order to make way for 56 townhouses, including eight below-market-rate units that are designed with all electric features and solar panels as well as EV charging capabilities and other sustainable elements.
Jeff Smith, director of development for SRGNC expressed his enthusiasm about this project: “We are very excited to bring this new townhome community which will help meet the robust housing demand on the Peninsula while also contributing access to its tremendous trail system along Bayfront.” This development aligns with Redwood City’s General Plan intent for a mixed-use waterfront neighborhood on Bair Island.
