CBRE is providing guidance for the redevelopment of Westshore 54, a prime 53.3-acre parcel located at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Interstate 275 in Tampa’s bustling Westshore district.
The site, which currently houses the popular Westshore Plaza mall spanning over one million square feet, is now on sale and slated for a complete transformation. With an impressive entitlement of over 8.1 million square feet secured by Washington Prime Group (WPG), Westshore 54 presents an exciting opportunity for vertical development. The ambitious redevelopment plan includes plans for office space, a medical center, retail shops and restaurants, a hotel as well as residential units.
In early January of this year, WPG received final approval from Tampa City Council to move forward with their proposed plans. In October of last year,WPG acquired Macy’s Inc.’s department store real estate which included their location at the mall in Tampa that was announced to close along with several others nationwide in early January.Dick’s Sporting Goods also vacated its anchor box at the mall in October to relocate to International Plaza where they opened up new concept store.
