"Redevelopment Plans Announced for Former Westshore Plaza"

CBRE is providing guidance for the redevelopment of Westshore 54, a 53.3-acre property located at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Interstate 275 in Tampa’s Westshore district.

The current site houses Westshore Plaza, a mall spanning over 1 million square feet. The property is now on sale and will undergo redevelopment under Washington Prime Group (WPG), who has secured entitlements for more than 8 million square feet. This presents an opportunity for vertical development with plans to include office space, medical facilities, retail stores, restaurants, a hotel and residential units.

In early January of this year, WPG received final approval from Tampa City Council for their proposed plans. In October of last year,WPG acquired Macy’s Inc.’s department store real estate which led to the announcement that Macy’s would be closing its Tampa location along with several others nationwide in early January.Dick’s Sporting Goods also vacated its anchor box at the mall in October to relocate to International Plaza.
