"Red Oak Data Center: DataBank's Progress on 480MW Expansion"

DataBank is currently working on a state-of-the-art data center campus in Red Oak, spanning 292 acres of land. This ambitious project is expected to cost over $250 million and will be made possible by the company’s recent acquisition of a $725 million credit facility in April. The new capital will support ongoing expansion efforts for DataBank, which also secured a green bond worth $456 million back in February.

The site located in South Dallas will soon be known as the “Red Oak Campus” and will house up to eight two-story data centers covering approximately 425,000 square feet each. In total, this campus could reach an impressive 3.4 million square feet once completed. Phase 1 plans include four buildings and a sub-station from Oncor with the capacity to deliver up to 240MW of critical IT power – enough for all four buildings combined.

However, DataBank has even bigger plans for Phase 2 which could see an increase in power supply allowing all eight buildings on the campus access to up to480MW of critical IT power from Oncor’s sub-station.The company already operates six other DFW data centers including one locatedin Plano (pictured).

Construction at the Red Oak site has already begun with an estimated completion date set for Q2-2026 when it is expected that services can begin being offered at this location. This exciting development marks another milestone achievementfor DataBank as they continue their missionto provide cutting-edge technology solutions through their expanding networkof high-qualitydata centers across Texasand beyond.
